Hello Dieter, Today I finally received my 3 ordered A138P's from Thomann. What modifications have been made? Two of batch 4-17 have some extra jumpers and an extra connector. One of batch 11-16 hasn't. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Jacco Ville

Hello Jacco, the new A-138p are equipped with an additional pin header that can be used to connect internally the quad envelope follower A-135-4C so that the four audio input signals of the A-138p can be used as default inputs for the A-135-4C. It's the pin header JP1 and is labelled "DEFAULT INPUTS TO ENVELOPE FOLLOWER OPTION". In addition four new jumpers are available to define if the default signals to A-135-4C are pre/post the level controls of the A-138p. I'll add the information to the technical document on our website a.s.a.p. If you don't use the A-135-4C the additional pin header and jumpers of the A-138p have no meaning. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Hello Dieter, Thank you for your reply. Then I'll return this older version, besides the difference in jumpers the GAIN pots/knobs are also lower than the new version. Cosmetically not very nice. Guess Thomann sendet me some old stock. Cheers Jacco Ville Sent from my IPhone.

As the A-135-4C envelope follower was designed about one year after the A-138p the first pcb version of the A-138p does not have an internal connector for the A-135-4C. Only the second version of the A-138p (manufactured from about June 2017) is equipped with the additional connector JP1 (labelled "TO ENVELOPE FOLLOWER OPTION"). The pc boards are marked "A-138p PERFORMANCE MIXER VERSION 2". The dot near to JP1 denotes the red wire of the ribbon cable which is used to establish the connection to A-135-4C. You have to look at the pc board to find out which version you own. It has nothing to do with vintage or standard, just with the pc board because both (vintage and standard) are have been manufactured in the old and new version. It depends upon the period of storage of the dealer in question which they have for sale. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer
