A-155 - weird behavior - needs repair?

A-155 - weird behavior - needs repair?

2018-09-15 by juanvb@icloud.com

I changed my A154 A155 (2 modules) from one rack to another and I think one of my A155s broke

Something wasn't working

Ithoght it was the connection to 154 board.I connected the a-154 board to ST1 instead ST2 on the first sequencer.

It was that I had connected wrongly one of the 10 pin connectors to the board, only half of the pins was connected.

I connected everything but...

the sequencers were doing weird things

to summarize, after several trial error setups

the sequencer that was sequencer 1 when I connected wrongly does weird things

the other sequencer works ok as first sequencer connected to the A154, and if I connect both, both do weird things

I've sent a mail to hardware@doepfer.de with an explanation of what happens and I will be sending the A-155 for repair

Here is detailed explanation

A-154 with clock running and manual on/off in Off

If Faulty A-155 connected as first sequencer

I have to switch on/off twice and then the sequencer starts from step 1 to 4 then 8 then 1 and stops

If man is set as on in A-154 when I click on the A-155 module clock button

starting from step one light on

click — step2

click — step3

click — step4

click — step8

click — nothing - stays in 8

click — nothing - stays in 8

click — nothing - stays in 8

click — step1

If I connect good A-155 as first and only sequencer connected to A-154

everything works OK

If I connect good A-155 as first and faulty A-155 as second

both sequencers go to 1-4 then 8 then 1… as when the faulty one is connected as first

it seems the problem is in the A155 not in A154

any ideas??

thanks in advance

Juan

This means that the address bus high bit is some how received wrong (or interpreted wrong)

Does the A-155 work if used alone (without the A-154, configured as standalone using an external clock)? Or does it show the same behaviour?
