A111-2 tuning problem

A111-2 tuning problem

2019-03-07 by exakoustidismiltiadis@hotmail.com

Hello to all!!!

In the last few days I have a tuning problem, when I tune lets say in C and switch the octave knob one step above or below it doesn't double or half double the frequency. Do anyone know how to solve this?

Best regards,

Miltos

Also, as long as I observe the output frequencies, independent of the waveform, are not stable, it jumps around a few hertz or whole semitones.

Best regards,

Miltos

I'm sorry about the problems with the module. First of all please check if
your power supply is OK. Fluctuations of the supply voltages may cause such
problems.
If the supply is OK please return it to the dealer for repair. I suppose
that in this case the CEM3340 or one of the trimming potentiometers is
defective.

Thank you Dieter for your quick answer but I think that I was not so precise in my previous posts.
I left it today for 30 minutes to warm up, the pitch is jumpin around the tuned frequency 1-2 cents.
The main problem is still the octave switch, which still is not doubling the frequency or half double it.
Lets say I tune in C@130Hz,
I turn the knob one octave up, the pitch is around C#@280Hz
I turn the knob one octave down. from the initial position the pitch is around B@61Hz
Also I run a sequence with Dark time, it has similar results, not exactly doubling the pitch with octave range
switch at dark time at 1V
Sorry for the misconception...

Best regrads

Hello,

a pitch change in the 1-2 cent range is normal and may be caused e.g. by
fluctuations of the supply voltage or stray pick-up from the CV line of the
bus (if not used I'd recommend to remove the bus jumper JP4).

I suppose that the module has to be re-adjusted unless there is another
fault (like a defective trimming potentiometer, e.g. P8).

First of all the 1V/octave of the CV input has to be adjusted with P8. For
this a precise external CV source (e.g. midi interface) has to be used which
generates exact 1.00V intervals.
After that range of the octave switch has to be adjusted with P13.

If you are not able to do the readjustment please send it to the dealer
where you purchased the module.

Best wishes

Thank you again for your valuable advice! I checked the supply voltage, it is pretty stable.
The JP4 jumper was removed from the first day I bought A111-2.
I will follow your instructions, if I will still not be able to re-adjust it, I will go to my dealer.

Best regards,

Miltos

I went to my dealer, it's all fine, thank you once again!
