Florian,

That sounds like the Steiner-Parker Synthacon.

Ken Stone reverse engineered this and it is also available commercially, have a look below;

http://www.cgs.synth.net/
http://www.scampers.com/cyndustries/modules_synthaconfilter.cfm

The last link includes sound examples.

I would be interested in a dedicated filter, but I forgot, from which
industrial synth it is derived: basically it is a 12dB multimode filter,
but instead of having three outputs for the different filter types it
provides only one output for all, but different inputs for the three filter
types. You can use this filter mixing different signial not via a level,
but via frequency. Should sound very interesting.

I personally find the MS20 sound always very(!) boring.

Thats where I got it from. I had read it on the synthdiy list, but did not
remember who and what ...

So I will order Kens PCBs

after a closer look the synthacon is one of the most interesting
filters i've ever seen. dieter doepfer should take a look at
it, or better, start developing such a filter for the a100
(after finishing the a154 etc..)

best wishes

ingo

We should be careful with this. Already one time, Dieter had a lot of
trouble with someone from the synthdiy list, because a module of the A100
was very similar to a module someone from this list offered as kit. Though
to my opinion this was only coincidence, the suspicion about a theft of the
idea could not be dismissed that easy.

So Dieter should ask Ken, whether he may take over the concept or idea.
