doepfer's request about "club of the knobs" modules!!!

2003-08-01 by Bakis Sirros

dieter doepfer says:
"I have one request: We contacted "Club of the Knobs"
to find out if they use our modules and replace the
front panel, knobs and so on. They answered very
unfriendly and replied that all modules were designed
by themselves and are no Doepfer clones or copies
(haha ... , please look e.g. at the C956 Dual
Quantizer, it is exactly the same as our A-156, or the
C903 Noise Source = A-118, or the C926 Frequency
Shifter  = A-126, or the C935 Morph Controller =
A-144+A-135, or the C905A = A-108, or the C905C High
Pass = A-123 and so on  .....).

If anybody owns one of these modules from "Club of the
Knobs" it would help very much if he could lend it us
for a few days to find out the truth. Of course we
will pay all shipment charges and give a small reward
for the troubles (e.g. a free A-100 module up to 100
Euro). If they replace the front panels, knobs and so
on from modules they purchase from us we will have no
problem if they add a corresponing note. But we will
not accept that they copy our modules.

Thank you.
Dieter"

Are they actually for sale nnow? Last I heard was that they were
only taking orders... but then again, I haven't been to their website
since the last time these guys were discussed.

I mean, what ever happened to their "massise lauch party, attanded by
name artists"?

Regards,
Kevin
