hello denis,
i wish i could buy these plan B vco's too...
for me these vco's are forbiden, as the greek customs
are really crazy. i do not know at all what will the
final price be after they get past the customs.
so, i REALLY wish for a future doepfer super vco
module!
bakis.

i thought so too...but check this:

http://europa.eu.int/comm/taxation_customs/dds/cgi-bin/tarchap?Taric=9207105000&Download=0&Periodic=0&ProdLine=80&Lang=DE&SimDate=20050312&Country=----------&YesNo=1&Indent=2&Action=1#OK

...this is for germany. you'll have to switch it to greek, obviously
(in the top of the page) and use the same TARIC code. and enter the US
as source/destination country. This will tell you what import taxes
are due. add VAT and you're there.

I actually found out that it's 3.2% import-tax + 16% vat for
germany...which still is a lot but not prohibitively so.

hope this helps

I guess what's up for discussion are these:

So how are they compared to Doepfer VCOs?

There's a Yahoogroup devoted to them -- PLAN_B_analog_blog

People seem to like them a lot.

The one thing I'm concerned is it looks like a one man operation so be aware you'll have a
long long wait to ship despite them appearing for sale at Big City.

I'm personally a tiny bit annoyed that I sent Peter Grenader an email trying to buy one on
pre-order (before Big City afaik and without the Big City commission) and he didn't send a
return e-mail saying all spoken for or buy it at Big City or whatever was appropriate.

http://www.buzzclick-music.com/model_15.html

this is the link with stuff to listen to. what made me decide to get
them is the demo of the saw-wave and the PWM example....SWEET sounding
to my ears.

but i must admit that while big city music replied to my mails
instantly, mr grenader hasn't (but i guess the "i'm from europe and
would like to avoid import taxes, any options?" type of mail i sent
him is NOT the type of mail one likes to answer...hehe).

bcm said they should be available by mid april, so i'll see ;)

(it's not that i wouldn't know what to spend my cash on instead
like..immediately. come to daddy, mr. vactrol phaser)

For the record, I'm still waiting for 1 Plan B VCO I ordered in July 2004.
