Panick, Please Help 12v in VCO

Panick, Please Help 12v in VCO

2005-03-07 by Kris Bishop

Hi,

I'm currently pulling in all the components I needed for my Formant
MSS2000 to be built. Doing Ok so far.

Where does the 12v and 5v supply for the vco come from, Does IC4, and
IC7 produce this? As I'm controlling my synth via a digital interface
in the shape of a midijack I need only provid a board with a CV and
Gate out which I planned to create with a couple of voltage followers
and from there input these into the BUS system and use 3.5mm sockets
on the bus access module to provide CV and gate outputs.

My real problem is will the VCO's run with just the normal +15 and -15
v inputs as specified and create the relative voltages or do you need
more supply voltages. (I think it looks as if they are created on the
VCO boards)

I need to know as soon as possible as if I need to I will have to
create an interface board.

Cheers
Kris Bishop

Hi Kris,
All boards get +-15V and if other voltages are needed they are changed on the board with 78- and 79-ers. Not the cheapest solution it is....
I'm not doing this and made one major power supply with all the voltages I might need. I got hold of two industrial 24V supplies and derive -24V, -15V, -12V, +5V, +9V, +12V, +15V and +24V from it. Even have several modulars running on the same supply.

Hi,
Sorry was just being stupid, sorted it out after posting question.
That's all my parts ordered. To anyone trying to buy BC557C's their
is a guy in China selling some but costing me £113 to get 32 of them
shipped to scotland.

Kris.

These are readily available, farnell have loads of them @ 8p each.

Sorry to kick you in the shins with this little note, I could have
also got them as samples from the manufacturer.

If there is any thing you want and you hav'nt got an account, let me
know and an arangement could be set up.

Hi Guys,
In Belgium we need a TVA-number to buy at Farnell. I buy my components in Germany. www.conrad.de
prices are more then acceptable.
There's a www.conrad.com too, for the UK, and in France, and the netherlands. However, I found out that Germany is the cheapest and if you group orders... it's worth paying the extra for transport.
Don't know if getting them to Scotland is possible.
bye

I cant thank you enough, your mail came through an hour before the
money transfered, now canceleed and the remainder of my components
have been ordered through Farnell.

I don't know how I missed them I searched the site and even when
researching autocomplete came on and then I found them.(HArd to
believe I've studied Computing for 4 years, Bloody Scottish
Engineers lol)

Anyway thanx you saved me time and money, and you put a smile on my
girlfriends face(which is hard trust me).

I now only require the mains transformer with 2 18v secondaries does
anyone know where I can get one, this is my last component that I
need. Hopefully the PCB's Will be printed by next week and I'll have
all my components in.

Cheers mate
Kris
