In the performance section of the vfx
1.  press the midi button and change one of the three sounds from local to 
midi
2.  double click the midi button so that it is "active"
3. press the midi button repeatedly until you come to program
4.  change the program to get the tx sound that you want
5.  choose the vfx sound you want as part of the preset and be sure that it 
stays set to local. 

With both sounds active 

6. press the transpose button and experiment with the tx/midi sound by 
changing the octave to match the octave of the vfx sound
7.  save the settings as a preset or as a sequence.
