Afaik, the SD1-24's were actually rebadged VFX-SD II's (only a few made it to market with that name, from what I remember). Probably the PCB ribbon cable problem was fixed during the rebadge too (I'm not sure if the VFX-SD II suffered the problem or not) Anyway, you are correct, I was just simplifying, since the SD1 is probably most visible in its SD1-32 configuration :) Though the SD1 manual DOES refer to the sequencer as 25,000 notes unexpanded :) Btw, regarding the interchangability, thats true, though remember that any SD1-32 patch that uses the SD1 or VFX-SD specific voices won't be fully compatible on a plain VFX (or on a VFX-SD if you use the SD1 voices). Afaik though it will load, it will just be missing some voices... (Yes, I have the SD1 too :)
