Good point about the interchangability of sounds. I've only had experience with VFX-to-SD transfers, and they work fine in that direction. There may also be some minor issues with the effects processor, too.
Out of curiosity, how old is your SD1? Have you had any problems with it?

Afaik, the SD1-24's were actually rebadged VFX-SD II's (only a few made it
to market with that name, from what I remember). Probably the PCB ribbon
cable problem was fixed during the rebadge too (I'm not sure if the VFX-SD
II suffered the problem or not)
Anyway, you are correct, I was just simplifying, since the SD1 is probably
most visible in its SD1-32 configuration :) Though the SD1 manual DOES
refer to the sequencer as 25,000 notes unexpanded :)
Btw, regarding the interchangability, thats true, though remember that any
SD1-32 patch that uses the SD1 or VFX-SD specific voices won't be fully
compatible on a plain VFX (or on a VFX-SD if you use the SD1 voices). Afaik
though it will load, it will just be missing some voices...
(Yes, I have the SD1 too :)
