Re: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Re: Owner's manual - anyone?

So I take it that yours sits put in a studio and doesn't go out on the road at all. That's probably a good thing, it will live long and prosper. Btw, date of manufacture should be on small ID plate on the rear of the unit on the disc drive end.
Mine will be 10 years old in July and I've owned it over half of that time. It's generally very reliable, although the sequencer exhibits some odd behavior during warm weather. It locked up during a gig about 6 months ago, but an Ensoniq tech talked me through a procedure to clean the connections to the power supply. Has worked like a charm since. My only complaint is the 21-voice limit. Got a JV1080 cheap that fixed that....

I don't know when it was manufactured, so I can't be sure. I bought it used
about 10 months ago.

So far not had any major problems, it will sometimes corrupt its memory if
there is any 'noise' on the power line, but as long as I kept my
presets/sequences saved, it wasn't a big deal. About 6 months ago I put it
on a spare 300VA UPS unit, and its been powered on since then with no
corruption.
