The Sequencer OS version has (AFAIK) to match the internal VFX-SD EPROM version. So If You Want to Upgrade You´ll need both the SeqOS and the companion EPROM. It would probably be easier to find a whole VFXer with a newer System, depending on if there are any Repair shops left that might have some óle stuff around somewhere. My VFX-SD1 is a v3.00 OS, with xtra Waveforms (Piano, HipDrums etc.) and so. The "real" SD1 (32 Voices compared to the 21 of VFX/VFX-SD1), goes up to 4.00. I don´t know if it contains bugfixes and so, but it gave the user the SwingQuantize in the Sequencer. I think The SD1 sounds a little more Dynamic and Open compared to the VFX-SD1, but a little EQ almost makes up for that. --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, "Rick Margitza" <rickmargitza@h...> wrote: > > hi guys, > i have a couple of questions. > > 1.i read yesterday about upgrading a vfx-sd sequencer from 25,000 to 75.000 > notes. is this still possible and if so, where would i get this done. > > 2. what is the most current OS? im running OS 2.1. if there is one after > this, how do i go about installing the newest one and will be older > sequences play on the newer OS. > > > thanks in advance, rick >
