Hey Harry. It is interesting toknow you have used those other synths. I wonder if you would mind comparing the sequencers in each of them. I am always wanting this sort of comparison, in as much as the sequencer in the VFXsd, and TS series is the standard of excellence for me. Thanks, John B.

Hello all,
Thank you for the consideration on the 'Original
User' category. I may not have owned the board
officially for that 1.5 years, but I went through all
of the calibration errors and longing foro the
instrument when we had to send it in for repair.
To add merit to my 'case':
After my friend left with the VFX for his new job and
life with his family, I started building my studio,
all-the-while, looking for a VFX (I even tried to buy
his, but he would not sell it). I bought about 20
boards and still was not happy until I finally got the
VFX in October 2004. The reason I bought my SQ-2 was
because it was essentially a 3-sound VFX. On albums
from 1993, 1994, and 1995, it took 5 boards to do what
I initially did on the just the VFX. Now, I have 9
boards, and 3 of them are Ensoniqs (two being the
VFX-SD).
I think that we all have an instrument that we hold
dear, and mine is the VFX-SD. Even though it is
electronic and 'cold' in nature, it makes such musical
sounds and I feel connected when playing it. It is
truly my favorite synth.
It is too bad that Ensoniq got bought out, but am
glad that I have a part of synth history with the
Ensoniq synths. They truly had their own sound that
made them great.
 Thank you again,
 Harry Ebbeson III
PS: I currently own the following and use them in
every song:
Alesis QS6
E-Mu PK-6
Ensoniq SQ-2 32 Voice
Ensoniq VFX-SD (two of these)
Korg X5
Roland JV-880
Roland XP60
Yamaha TG-33
Roland VG-8 (for my strat)
Anyway, the Ensoniq still gets top billing in my studio.
