Here's some suggestions: 1. Battery may need to be replaced. 2. Open the SD up (use an allen wrench to remove 4 screws at the corners of the top panel) and locate the power supply, which is at the rear left, just to the right of the disk drive. One at a time, using a small screwdriver and a light touch, remove the wires attatched to the power supply, one end at a time, clean with a brush if necessary, and reattatch. It is important to do one at a time and not to use too much force. When done, close up and do the hard restart (7x on/off, turning off as the display starts to light up). This method worked for me when my SD1 froze up about a year ago, no problems since. Good luck.
