re the noise from an SD-1. I don't know if this advice has been offered on this group or not, but here's a MAJOR issue with the whole VFX/SD family. If you want the best signal to noise ratio out of the beast, the keyboard master volume slider needs to be up FULL. It is NOT a volume control (or attenuator) it is a digital controller of the dynamic range of the final output stage DAC, so there-fore, if you have the volume control set to 75%, you get HALF the signal to noise ratio the beast is capable of. - be careful of that one. but having told everyone that then you'll all get a better sound out of them and nobody will want to sell me theirs.
