AW: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] HELP with sounds and downloads for SD-1

2007-11-08 by Hans Artmann

I guess you havn't seen the file section of this group yet. There are plenty of sounds, even a library with 1000+ patches stored in a SOUNDLIB library. This nice program's also there for free download.
Be careful with the Giebler tool. It's certainly good but it only works from DOS like other tools dealing with VFX/SD floppies - and when I say DOS I mean DOS and not a command shell under XP.
There's plenty information in the archive about this.
The easiest way to get your sounds to the SD-1 is to attach a couple midi cables and use any sysex program like midiox...

Betreff: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] HELP with sounds and downloads for SD-1

Hey everyone,

I am new here and have no experience with downloading sounds and
what tools I need (and where to get them, I couldn't find a tools
option) to transfer them to a new floppy and then to my SD-1.

I am looking to orchestrate a piece and I need some good violin and
cello sounds as well as any other orchestra instrumentation. I don't
want the overall big string sound, I am looking for good individual
sounds.

So if anyone here could take a sec and walk me through where to find
the sounds here and what are the steps of downloading them and
transferring them to a blank floppy so they can be used in the SD-1,
I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time.

-Scott
