Re: Ensoniq VFX motherboard repair

2008-11-09 by Chris Rolland

Look here:

And if you are anywhere MK, I'll have a go for you . . . just about
to do it on my VFX which I thought was already "fixed" but has
started having the problem, so I took it apart and hey it's the
standard connector blocks . . . benefits of mostly using it as a
sound module, not a "playing" keyboard I guess!!!!

calibration error a little more than I would like.  I suspect this
is the split motherboard faulty connector problem and was wondering
whether it was worth attempting to fix it myself.  This would
require taking the keybaord to bits I know and I haven't a clue how
to do this nor what kind of wire to best use to replace the faulty
connector between motherboard 1 and 2 which I think are at the base
of the keybaord case.

effect this repair.  Haven't found anything other than very general
summaries of the fix on the internet so far. I don't think I will
want to attempt it unless I have some pretty detailed instructions to
go on as the keyboard is worth far more to me for nostalgia than for
money.
