Older midi systems had a cut off built into the midi battery circuit.  When the battery fails, the machine quits making sound.  You might need to change the battery in the midi circuit.
I don't know if the SD-1 has the cutoff in it, but I know it is supposed to tell you when the battery is failing.  
One time I accidentally plugged the amp connections in wrong and thought the SD-1 was failing.
No sound might be a bad cord, a jack or plug that isn't all the way in, or an onboard fuse.

hello,
have you ever had this problem?
Calibrating is ok ; every thing works but no sound!
I thins it's an electronic problem.I have a second sd1(21) for pieces.
have you any suggestions?
