I had a VFX-SD about ten years ago which I sold, then just recently got 
a VFX.  One of the things that surprised me was how many presets (I 
found a site with a huge bunch of VFX, VFX-SD and SD1 presets) cropped 
up on a lot of music that I own.  I'm pretty sure the distinctive bass 
on Front 242's "Headhunter" (which came out the same year the VFX did) 
was a VFX preset...
