Maybe I didn’t understand you well but, wouldn’t you prefer to make backups of the VFX patches, presets and sequences in SYSEX files, and forget the floppy disks?
I have actually - I've transferred everything over to my Mac, and I've got backups now -- but I'd really like to (for instance) be able to convert my sequences into SMFs (the VFX won't last forever, and I don't want the sequences to be plain old lost). Without a machine that can run the Giebler software successfully, I'm dependent on having some kind of a VFX around - not that I plan to get rid of it, but things wear out.
