The floppy drive is a DD (double-density) drive, not an HD one. For the best possible results, use DD diskettes. If you have none other available then you _can_ use HD diskettes, but they're really intended for use with HD drives, so may deteriorate and lose their data more quickly. Replacement floppy drives for the VFX can be bought from Route 66 Studios, http://route66studios.com/ . An alternative that might be a longer-term solution is to replace the actual floppy drive with a floppy drive emulator, which offers read- write capability of floppy drive images off an SD card: see http://www.torlus.com/floppy/ .
