regarding the live onstage issues....
once i bought a Zero Surge Eliminator , all of the VFX onstage unexplained reboots disappeared

apparently the light-show system demands 
and midi-signals bouncing around the stage between the 
VFX- jlcooper msb, drum pad, bass pedals, other synths - 
really caused constant vfx system reboots , oddities etc on any stage we played

but this little $150 Eliminator saved us back then
i still have it and they still make them
