Hey All Roegster here. Johnathan Cain has used a VFX before and who can blame him. After uploading the patches from my sound librarian into my VFX, I was able to get the "Huge Orchestra" patch to replace using my Roland S-50 as a Mellotron. I'm playing keyboards in a progressive metal band and the VFX cuts thru like a symphony. And for some songs, the "Arp 2600" patch gives my minimoog a run for the money. I would be lost without it and the "Piano and Strings" patch makes the most beautiful compliment when midied to the grand piano sample in my S-50. Plus I can bring it in with my volume pedal for even more dynamics. All in all, I would say that my VFX is the most under-rated keyboard of all time. And when I read that my all time favorite keyboardist, Tony Banks, used one, I was smiling for a week. Sure, it had calibration error problems to begin with, but by hardwiring the two circuit boards under the action together, I haven't had ANY problems since. It is truely my most irreplacible board, with my DX7 running a close second. Newer doesn't always mean better, and I wouldn't trade my VFX for the entire product line of Korg, Roland, Access, or any others. So maybe I'm a little biased, but when you find something that works for you, you stick with it. Have a wonderful week.......................Roegster __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
