Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

I recently acquired a used VFX.  Regardless of the setting, it seems
to require an inordinately forceful touch to get a velocity output of
over 64 (50%).  I can't imagine what it would take to get a maximum
velocity output.  Is this normal for a VFX?

I also note that the keys are very noisy with a distinct clack as they
bottom out.  Is this a normal side effect of the polyphonic aftertouch
or is some service in order?
