Is there, or has there ever been a tone module with the possibility of loading VFX and SD1 sounds into it, to be used with a computer sequencer?

I don't think so, although many of us were hoping for an SD1 module. The work around of course is to have sounds sampled into a sampler which could then be used with a sequencer. I'll post my standard answer to this one. If you want a rack mount synth that has essentially the same architecture as the VFX and SD-1, I would look for an MR Rack by Ensoniqs. I use one and you can't beat the rhodes and pads. Well maybe now you could with a Motif rack.... No, the VFX and the MR Rack are not compatible in that way. The MR Rack did come with a version of Unisyn that allowed you to design patches in Windows. Alas, there were never as many patches available as there have been for the VFX...
