VFX-SD1 tone module

VFX-SD1 tone module

2004-01-13 by frankmuzet

Is there, or has there ever been a tone module with the
possibility of loading VFX and SD1 sounds into it, to be used with
a computer sequencer?

I don't think so, although many of us were hoping for an SD1 module. The work
around of course is to have sounds sampled into a sampler which could then be
used with a sequencer. Frank Fortunato

This doesn't really fit the question, but the SQ^R has the same sound set. So if you like the sounds you might want to check out whether it operates closer to the SQ1 or the VFX family...I'm not sure.

I'll post my standard answer to this one. If you want a rack mount
synth that has essentially the same architecture as the VFX and SD-1,
I would look for an MR Rack by Ensoniqs. I use one and you can't beat
the rhodes and pads. Well maybe now you could with a Motif rack....

No, the VFX and the MR Rack are not compatible in that way. The MR
Rack did come with a version of Unisyn that allowed you to design
patches in Windows. Alas, there were never as many patches available
as there have been for the VFX...
