Hi, My VFX SD does a strange thing, every once in a while it just makes a quick blast of notes, on what sounds like many different instruments. It happens very rarely, but it sounds like someone just slammed a bunch of keys down all at once. Any ideas what is causing it? Other than that it plays fine.

I had one of the first VFXsd's. It did the same thing. It eventually stopped working altogether. I'm not sure but this problem may be the infamous MOLEX connector problem. I would email thesoniq.com and ask him if he also thinks this is the Molex problem, and find out if he does the soldering fix for it.
I have done buisiness with The before. He's good.

Yep. It was usually piano sounding, for me. It's probably the keyboard connector or a cold solder joint. Do you know if the keyboard connector has been bypassed? Rodney

Actualy, I seem to remember my VFXsd doing this every once in a while before I changed out the battery. Ever since I changed that battery, though, I've had really no problems at all. You might try that (cheap and easy fix) but don't rule out any of the other wisdom on here. = ) God Bless, Ben > -----Original Message----- > From: homebythe_sea [mailto:homebythe_sea@y...] > Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 9:10 PM > To: Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Has anyway experienced this with a VFXSD? > > > Hi, > > My VFX SD does a strange thing, every once in a while it just makes > a quick blast of notes, on what sounds like many different > instruments. > > It happens very rarely, but it sounds like someone just slammed a > bunch of keys down all at once. > > Any ideas what is causing it? > > Other than that it plays fine. > > > > > > Yahoo!
