Does anyone know if there is a pedal other than the factory Ensoniq that will work on an SD-1 to trigger the sequencer? Michael

Any pedal would work with the two conditions:
- pressing the pedal must CLOSE the contact
- the contact must connect Ground and RING, not Ground and Tip of the
phone jack

Ground | | |

Ring (FS1) | |

Tip (FS2) |

The VFX/SD'S accept ground/ring as FS1 (should be left the pedal on a
two pedal block) and ground/tip as FS2. FS1 is the one to trigger the
sequencer. This must be assigned in the Master menu.
In most cases you can easily adapt your pedal:
Use a stereo jack and connect it accordingly.
Some pedals got an opening contact, i.e. the contact is normally closed
and opens when you press the pedal: Open the pedal's case and have a
look at the block of contacts. The pedals I've seen had a toggle switch
and can be converted from opening to closing by turning the block upside
down.
Weird? Try it.
I've bought a triple pedal and converted it the way that right and
middle pedal work as FS2 and FS1 (with closing contacts) and the left
pedal triggers my SR16 drum machine (with a closing contact going to a
mono phone jack). Took me 10 minutes - well, after thinking about it for
an hour...
Good luck
Hans

If you have a foot switch with a standard 2 conductor plug (Ground/Tip), this can be done with an adapter, a stereo Y adapter, right/left female jacks to stereo 1/4. The link is an example of such an adapter: http://www.stsi.com/mirror/prods/YPP-117.html Bob Corona/Riverside, CA
