Re: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Replacing floppydrive of an SD1
2008-03-02 by Lawrence Schryner
Hello, I just seen this post by you and it does
interest me as how you did it. I own a couple VFX-SD's
and one of them I had to buy a unique replacement
drive that could identify a double density disk. That
also means that it writes on each side of the disk as
well. It may be possible,(I don't know) that you are
able to write to a single sided disk with a simple
cable modification. I also am assuming that the VFX-SD
and the SD-1 are using the same types of drives and
cable setups.(Again, I don't know). The thing about it
is that if you have found a way to use a single drive
and it is working well. It is also possible to write
with a PC and corresponding software to a disk and
transfer the information without a midi setup to a PC.
This would save a lot of time trying to get a midi
setup hooked up to the PC. Thanks, Larry
