Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Heya Kip, I have a few questions for you regarding how the BCR 
recognizes the VFX.  I have a BCF which I've yet to learn about, but 
I have downloaded your preset for BCR/VFX.  I may get a BCR just so I 
can use that preset.  That will help me learn my way around the BCR 
more quickly, which will in turn teach me about the BCF.

My questions are regarding "MIDI learn" on the BC series... From what 
I can gather, you hit "Learn", tweak a knob, then the BC unit 
attaches that event to the knob, correct?  How does it do this -- via 
RPN/NRPN?

If so, isn't this something that MIDI-OX should also be able to 
detect?  So far, I've got my Alesis Fusion being monitored via MIDI-
OX, and I can see note, CC's, aftertouch, "reverb depth", patch 
changes, song start/stop, etc.  It even recognizes when I hit my 
sequencer's LOCATE button.  But nothing is reported when I tweak a 
program/patch from inside EDIT mode; opening up the filter or turning 
on the ARP or detuning an OSC give no response in MIDI-OX.

It's similar with the VFX.  MIDI-OX detects note, aftertouch, mod 
wheel, seq start/stop, patch change, etc.  But it doesn't report 
opening a filter, changing type of FX, transpose, etc.  I'd think in 
your BCR editor, you have knobs assigned to these editing parameters 
so that you can design a VFX sound using the BCR's knobs to tweak and 
experiment in real-time, correct?

Basically, does MIDI learn detect something that MIDI-OX cannot, or 
do I just have to set some type of view filter to see RPN/NRPN's?  
And if so, how?
