Yeah, of course they are more useful as a Ram cartridge.
Do you still have the original Rom you replaced?
I'm looking for these too, to retrieve the demo songs.

Hi,
I'm still in the process of finding sounds and songs, but I have a few discs with the songs that came with the VFX-SD1.
I will post them here in a few days. I need to boot up my W98 machine, which happens tomorrow, so it's comming :)
I had some of those back when the original VFX came out...The store I bought mine from was going out of business so they threw in 2 or 3 of them....I think there was 4 song carts total (that's what they had anyway if I remember correctly)...I had them for years in a drawer and ultimately let them go with the vfx when I sold it.....I admit I don't know what I was doing but I tried letting the outboard sequencer (Alesis MMT-8) run in record mode while the demo was playing but apparantly they didn't have any midi of the songs running out the midi out ports when they play because I captured nothing....You had to press certain buttons to get it to play too because the original vfx didn't have a built in sequencer...After the VFX-SD came out, they had song demos on floppy but the songs are different then what was on the carts...Good luck finding those carts...They are definitely rare because only dealers had them for demoing.....moon
