Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I have always been a fan of the VFX-SD since i bought one new in 1990! I am also the happy owner of a Fizmo which i really enjoy (and many other synths).

My question is for one of my friend. While he was playing with his VFX-SD, it shut down after 30 minutes... Now it is not working anymore. The disc and general light display is no longer turning on except from tiny spots of light in the corners.

The tech said it is whether the mother board or just the power supply. Any idea???

But my main question is: apart from finding another VFX-SD, is there any synth or sequencer on which he could read his VFX sequences recorder on disquette?

Well if it is the power board or the tranformer someone has them for sale on ebay 25 each right now.
