Hey anyone, I've got some nice sequencer songs in my VFX-SD sequencer, but I can't tranfer (record) them into my computer's sequencer program. I don't mean system exclusive info. Other sequencers let you press play while you press record on the receiving sequencer and that's all there is to it. What am I doing wrong? If you can help, I'd be greatful. THANKS

Um, what computer sequencer are you using? Have you re-assigned tracks assigned to internal voices to play MIDI out via the MIDI ports? The easiest way to do it is to plunk down the cash for the Giebler software (http://www.giebler.com/). It can read your sequencer disk on your PC, and make a standard MIDI file from your VFX-SD files. Then, you can easily import that to your sequencer program. Geren W. Hey thanks Geren but, I'm using emagic's micro logic on my imac so I don't need to reassign channels. I just 'arm' a track, enable it to follow as a slave to my VFX and... NOTHING! My free standing sequencer just transfers them when I push play. That's all micro logic tells me to do too. Just record at half speed so it doesn't get bogged down with too much info. After it's recorded on a track, there's a function in micro logic that separates the track to 16 separate channels. Unfortunately, my imac only reads CDs or that program you suggested might work. If you have any more suggestions, or anyone else does, let me know. Thanks, Marty Darwin.

If the sequence is in the sequencer of your VFX, you need to reassign the channels in the sequence to play an external device, otherwise, NO MIDI DATA IS SENT FROM THE VFX. IF THE VFX IS PLAYING INTERNAL VOICES, IT DOES NOT SEND THE MIDI DATA FOR THAT CHANNEL. You will need to reassign the MIDI channels to the out ports on the VFX to record the data into MicroLogic - on any platform. Geren W.
