organizing seq/ songs

organizing seq/ songs

2010-06-25 by leomagpoc

Is there a way to put my seq/songs that were saved to different disks on to one disk and in the order I want them. I have been reading the manual and trying different things but can't figure it out and don't even know if it is possible? Also how do I make a back up copy of my OS disk. I appreciate any help. Thanks

Leo

Yes.
Format a disk in the VFX so it's empty. Load the song You wan't to be the first. Save it on the one You just made. You will have to swap discs a few times, but that's how to do it. Remember to let the drive LED turn off before You take a disk out. When organizing a lot of files, it's easy to press the eject button too soon, so be carefull :)

There should be a disc-copy function in the storage menu on the VFX. Use that.

Thanks Claus
Is there a way to load just one song, it loads all the seq/ and songs when I load the disk with songs on it. I have tried selecting the song and then saving it to the new one using the 1 seq song selection but it will only do about 2 songs and then say it is out of seq space. I have also tried using the copy selection and when I put the source disk in it says bad data, but yet it loads the source disk Ok

How much sequencer memory do you have?

Hi,
I have the standard seq-memory size, so the VFX-OS asks me to swap the disk a couple of times. Shouldn't be a problem.

Reg. more seq. songs: So You mean You have more than one song in memory at a time? If so, You'll have to load it in, erase the songs (and parts used in those songs) before You save
the one song You want seperated. You will have to do that for every song, so You will need to load the original again, and sort out the parts for the next one and so forth.

In the beginning I used the sequencer for more songs at a time too, but now I make one sequence memory for one song, since the other way around can soon lead to 'garbage'.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
