Any VFX-SD Operating System Disk's in the UK?

Any VFX-SD Operating System Disk's in the UK?

2010-08-05 by jonpalman

Hello.
Some of you may remember my earlier post saying how I have messed up my sequencer (erased the OS)...

I am really desperate for a disk now... I am in the UK, and getting a disk from the US (where there are loads) is an absoloute last resort. I was just playing my synth (messing around to make some cooler sounds) and really thought how much I want to use this sequencer.

So all I want is an OS Disk in the UK. I'm willing to pay up to £10 for it. Or, if someone could be so kind, I would send cash in the post to the same amount someone bought it for from the USA, plus a little bit extra as a thanks. It's just I don't have PayPal or credit cards, and just want to buy this disk.

If anyone knows of a site that uses PayByCash then I would be grateful, because then I can topup my phone and pay that way.

So there's a little bit of profit in for anyone who can help, or the biggest thanks in the world for someone who can tell me where one is in the UK.

Just in case this helps:
Rom Version: 2.00
KPC Version: 231
Old OS Version (before I wiped it): 2.10

Many Thanks,
Jonathan.

Hi Jon

I can make you a disk - but somebody will need to point me at how to create it - using tyeh pc which has a different disk format I believe (I've never used the VFX disks with my PC) - or, can it be copied from within the VFX-SD? Mine is 2.10

assuming that my floppy drive on the PC still works - I've not used it in many many years!
you would also need to send me the blank disk - I don't have any spares any more.

Cheers
Neil

Hi Neil, thanks for the quick reply.

I have the disks, that's no problem. The only thing is, can you drive use Low Density disks? It should be able to, but if you go into Device Manager (persuming you're on Windows) and find out the model number. Then just search that into Google and find out.

To write them you'd have to use EDE which is a free program. I can send you a floppy with the required program and files on it (you'd have to boot from the disk). I'd put instructions in a letter.

I'd do it myself, only my drive doesn't work with this (it's USB).

I'd send a couple of disks, just to run off an extra copy. If you want, I could throw in a couple of extra disks to make yourself a couple of copies (kust I bought them only a couple of moths ago at £1 each, so I'd have to knock off a pound per disk).

If all of that is fine then please do tell me how much you want me to pay. At first I'll send half of the amount, then the rest when the job is done.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Jonathan.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Just realised I posted my address online when I replied through email (a bit stupid of me really...) so I'll send you an email so that we can discuss the rest through there.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Jonathan.
