Hello again and thanks to Fabio and Fred for the patch info. My new problem, outside of being a computer idiot, is that I cannot seem to get the loads of .syx files in my soundlib to a playable file on the sd-1. I can load them in a sys-ex-data file, but how do I get them to a program file? Any help would be great. Thanks again....scott

Hello Scott, Obviously, you need have installed a midi card on your computer. To proceed with the transfer from the *.syx files to SD-1 you can do it, for example with Cakewalk or another sequencer, thru SysEx View. There you load the syx file and later use Transfer Button to send the info to a SD-1. Then you can save the info on a disk, and you got a new disk with the new info. Another way, is using Soundlib. If files are already loaded, all you need is use Transfer (I don't remember which name is avalaible in Soundlib because I use Cakewalk) to send the info to synth. Remember check your MIDI setup before do anything. I hope you have good news. Best regards, Fabio ----- Original Message -----

I use Freeloader from Alesis to dump SysEx to my VFX-SD. Simple, very simple, light, does its job, freeware. I also find the VFX a remarkable "SysEx storer". Fast save to floppy, fast restore. Very nice machine. But back to the question: maybe the SD-1 SysEx are not compatible with the VFX SysEx ? This may be the problem here ?
