Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Hi all,

I'm a french enthousiast user of my VFX since 1989. Never had problem 
with this synth, but today i can't use it more because i need to 
replace some parts of the synth (wich are really dead) :

1. the memory battery (original comes from Matsushita Electric. 
3Volts. Ref : BR2032)

2. the data entry slider (circuit-board mounted, located to the left 
of the display) labelled as "pot2" in schematics. REF : 89175-5KB

3. one pushbutton microswitch, (circuit-board mounted, part used for 
pressing the softs buttons, this is the one used for the up arrow 
button located to the left of the data entry slider)

Please, can you help me. I need to know where to find these parts.

Hi Olivier!

Well, The battery is pretty standard I think - any 3V recharchable
should work, but talk to a technician near you.

It looks like you should be able to get a standard slider to fit in, 
but if you REALLY can´t find one I might be able to...

The microswitches are pretty standard - used almost everywhere!
(Although I can help you with some used but goodworking ones (ca. 10)

Need some parts for your VFX-SD, SD-1 or TS ? I'm
selling my VFX-SD for parts, 50 euros, to be picked up
by French users, at Paris, France.

FYI, tried to hard-wire the circuitery (damn
calibration !) and doesn't boot any more !
