Hi Folks, Could someone please give me some book titles or authors or videos on how to begin with MIDI. I've been a bar performer doing the Blues for almost 30 years and the time has come to get with the program. I've just recently acquired an SD-1...(my personal preference for certain sound qualities (ie)horn sections)...and don't have a clue how to work it. The owners manual is quite user NOT friendly. Clubs are paying less and less these days and I am not in a position to hire a 3-piece horn section. After hearing and seeing one of the greatest living legends of the Blues, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, I was astounded to hear his sequenced horn section - it was an SD-1. Was I ever bummed when salespeople told me it hasn't been made since 1992! Over the past six months, I've listened to all the latest and hottest in synth/sequencer gear. Nothing, in my opinion, came close to the life- like sound quality of the SD-1s' horns. Anyways, I found one in excellent condition and now it is time to begin. More poison has been injected into my life :-) .....a computer,expensive soundcard & scsi hard drives, opcode midi interface, a bass guitar module and Cakewalk 9.0. All this so that I may write and record in Peace! I hope that with your help I can get on the right track asap. Jake.
