Hi there :) Searching 2 VFX sounds.

Hi there :) Searching 2 VFX sounds.

2003-08-05 by genesis_midi

Hi there,

FInally got my vfx and I love the thing. But I need 2 sounds which
aren't in my vfx (they are on other cartridges :( )
maybe that someone here can help me with it please?

From Ensoniq VPC-03 the florida key from bank 0
From Ensoniq VPC-04 the verybreathy from bank 6

Why I need those: the ones here who are familiar with Genesis' We
can't dance album will recognize these sounds. The first one is the
intron from Jesus he knows me. The second one the synth pad on
driving the last spikes.

I thank you all in advance for reading and maybe even helping me.

Yours Sincerely,
Santi Jansen (17 netherlands)

Hello Santi
And welcome to the wonderful world of the VFX. My
name is Mick Roeg and I own 2 VFX's. I found an
amazing sound librarian and a source for 1500 VFX
sounds. The Sound Lib
is a free download at:
http://www.thedx7.co.uk/index.html
and one source for great patches for the VFX is:
http://neopatch.hypermart.net/
another is:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ensoniq-VFX-SD/files/
at the yahoo site there are over 1500 voice in one zip
file. I am also a big Genesis fan (more Gabriel era)
and I found a wonderful patch called (abacab organ)
that I use as my main organ sound. I just build a
recording studio in Florida and retired from playing
in bands this week, but one of the songs my last band
did was "Watcher of the Skies" from Foxtrot. The VFX
library has a patch called "Huge Orchestra" that is a
dead ringer for a Mellotron and this setting I used
for "Watcher". We recorded it and I played it for my
friend and when it started he said "Big Deal,
Genesis!." When the rest of the band came in he saw it
wasn't Genesis and complemented me one my intro,
saying it was good enough to fool him and he's a pro
recording engineer. So download the librarian and the
patches and prepare to spend a lot of time auditioning
a wonderful collection of sounds. Let me know how it
goes.
                                      Mick Roeg

Hi Santi,

enjoy with your VFX - a fantastic and very "fun-to-play" synth! Try
the following links:

I hope you'll find what you're searching for!

Sincerely,
Marc

Hi there all,
Thank you for your quick responses and good links. Downloaded lots of
other stuff aswell there aswell as the libary program which is very
usefull :)
I found the sounds I needed aswell as lots of other interesting
sounds. I noticed that the lorida key is actually a sort of guitar.
And that it is a simple sound. Nice to see how the velocity
controlles the LFO modulation.

VFX (and mainly EPS) info page

2003-11-21 by Roi de la plage

For info, this site has lots of EPS info but some the
VFX as well (bulletin services, ...)

http://www.adrastea.de/super-dvd/files-e.html

Maybe the link to the floppy drives replacement
concerning the EPS can be transposed to the VFX ??

Just my euro .02,

Fred
