cartridges

2003-10-20 by Ellen Rizzo

Hello.

Does anyone know where I can get blank (write-able e2prom-type) RAM
cartridges for the VFX/VFXSD? I really could use one or two more. Thanks.
Ellen

Ellen,I thought that Route 66 was going to do this. Seems to me I
read from them at least 2 years ago that this was imminent. I haven't
checked recently, but I'd think I would have heard about it by now.

I hope they decide to do it before the parts become obsolete!

Paul, I know the production RAM cartridges just pull
apart. You have to be careful as it's a hard plastic
pin and socket arrangement. I would guess that ROM
carts are pretty similar.

FRL

I saw a used VFX in a music store today. The manager
sold me the
cart for $25. Serendipity.

Ellen, I looked at the cart conversion supplied by
Steve
(steve_31).
That is something I can easily do. The chip should
only be about
$5.
I have the necessary equipment and experience.

My only concern is taking the cartridge apart. I'll
look at this
one
I just picked up and see what it's like. Take a look
at yours and
see
if it looks doable without breakage. We may work
something out,
then.

Paul

Bob, Last I checked, Voice Crystal had no more VFX RAM cartridges. Please
let me know if I am wrong. I have been on their website periodically....
