I'm also on this list, albeit quietly up until this point. *grin*

At this stage it's not a PhD, but an Honours dissertation. However it's 
looking pretty certain that I will keep going to do a Masters or PhD on the 
topic. There's simply so much that can be said about the CMI that it would 
be a shame to leave it after this year. Given the constraints upon the work 
imposed by the maximum allowable word count (~15k words) I've chosen to 
focus on Page C and Page R at this stage. My interests lie particularly in 
the interface design and how well the two systems match up with musicians' 
ideas about music composition and how well they facilitate composition.

I've already spoken to Peter Wielk and a few other people who worked at 
Fairlight but haven't really managed to speak to many "end users". If any 
members of this group would like to offer their opinions and experiences of 
the CMI, especially Page C and Page R, they'd be more than welcome to send 
me an email.
