Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Fairlight IIx for sale midi/smpte

Hi Kevin,

Are you referring to US dollars or UK Pounds ? Regarding the CMI 2X, you are
right ,these instruments are becoming more and more rare. Even the CMI
series 3 with the latest updates are becoming harder to find now.
Although the main reason that I have my CMI 2X and CMI 3 is for the sound
and inspirational quality of these instruments,I also know that these
instruments will more than likely increase in value over time.
In fact, we are nearing a time now where Fairlight MFX-3 + systems are
becoming cheaper than CMI 2X systems ! The second hand audio market place is
a strange thing ! Also I don't think us Fairlight users should expect to get
much of the Fairlight stuff super cheap anymore. We all know its worth
paying the extra for the sound and usabilty of these fine instruments.
The servicing side of things is becoming tricky, especially now that Peter
Wielk has moved to Sydney. Peter did a brilliant fan mod on my CMI 2X and
its extremely quiet now. My girlfriend now only complains about the noisy
relay on the CMI 2X computer keyboard itself.
I hope all is well !

Regards,

James Thomson
