Kyle, Congratulations on getting your IIx! I had the same exact questions about the library when I got mine. I, too, had the Pro-Rec cd and had gotten used to the sounds on it. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any kind of "definitive" list of Fairlight sounds published that I know of. From what I've been able to piece together, I think that the IIx sample cd is actually the Series I library. It was distributed with the original CMI. When the Series IIx came out, the folks at Fairlight (with Peter Wielk) went about updating the library. Some sounds were tweaked and some were re-named (ARR1 became SARRAR, ORCH5 became ORCH2, etc.). Some of the more, er, shall we say, experimental sounds that you will have heard on the Pro-Rec cd were deleted to make room for more generally usable ones. All in all I think it was a good move, even if it created a bit of confusion. Peter Wielk sent me a list of the real IIx library sounds, which I plan on copying and posting in the files section as soon as I get some time. I'm afraid I've been so busy lately I haven't had the chance to do much. By the way, did you purchase your system from Synhouse? If you did, we may have many of the same discs. Most of them are from the later IIx library. Rev. 20 was not, I think, I major upgrade. I'm not really sure what it did, in fact. :-) You also should get the "Sound Disc Formatting Utility" disc (to, well, format sound discs) and a QDOS disc (to copy your OS disc). I have all three of these discs that I will gladly copy for you if you can send me the blanks. Email me at mercybox@yahoo.com Hope this helps. If anyone finds me to be in error (pretty likely), feel free to correct me. :-) Laurence --- kar_chicago <kar_chicago@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > My recently purchased IIx came with OS Rev. 19.
