I also recall vaguely Trevor Horn or Andy Richards fulfilling some kids dream, with help from Jimmy Saville (Jim'll Fix It) by using their voice on a pop song (Fuzzbox, "International Rescue"). I'm sure the whole process was based around the Series III, showing CAPS (I think). Anyone else recall this? As I said, it'a all very vague, but must have been around 1989 when this was broadcast. A Fairlight was also feautured on Tomorrow's World in the early 80s, here in the UK. I aslo never got to see that :-( P -----Original Message----- From: Marcin 'Rambo' Roguski [mailto:rambo@id.uw.edu.pl] Sent: 10 March 2005 17:25 To: Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Fairlight-CMI] Tatiana Ali (by Kris Pfeiffer) Found it on Greg's site :) "[...]Sesame Street. There was Herbie Hancock with some little kids, and what was he showing them - a Series IIx?! I remember that he sampled the little girl speaking her name into the microphone - he applied filters, looping, etc., to the sample.[...]" Wasn't that Tatiana _M_ali? And yes, folks, old things come back to haunt you- the first ever show for me to know what WAS the Fairlight- and see one in action! ;-) Rambo -- If you look good and dress well, you don't need a purpose in life. -- Robert Pante, fashion consultant Yahoo!
