IIx For Sale

2006-06-05 by fairlight2x

Hello everyone -

I'll keep this somewhat brief, because part of me can't believe I'm
doing this... I am in the market to sell my Series IIx, and would
like to offer it to someone in the group who may be interested.

A few details: She is not 100% at this time. However, the issues
list is small - one (or two?) bad MIDI ports, a bad sound card
(needs new VCA), monitor laminate has bubbled a bit (but nothing
extreme), and cosmetically she has taken her fair share of trips and
shows it. Besides that, she works well - I guess as well as a
machine this old can!

I can provide pictures to those of you who request them.

I am the second owner; her first was great guy who used her on
numerous sessions in NY and LA during the mid-to-late 1980's.

She started life as a Series II, and was upgraded to a IIx one year
later, so her card cage shows the old layout. That is probably the
only noticable differance that remains.

She will come with a library, system and some blank disks, an
additional rebuilt lightpen (work done by ICC) and flight cases
(which feature geometric designs on them - compliments of her first
dad).

I live in Los Angeles, and am REALLY not interested in arranging
shipping, sorry - please don't ask me to change my mind on this
issue. Besides, the cost would be horrendous. I drove 2,000 miles to
get her myself way back when...

Notice that I am not mentioning a price right now... I would like to
hear serious inquiries/offers from those of you who are truly
interested.

Okay, it is done. Colin, please forgive me if this is not
appropriate; I only wanted to make sure she had the chance to go to
someone who would appreciate her. I apologize if I have broken any
forum rules here.

Thank you for your time, everyone. I hope to hear from some of you.

Best -

P.S. Please don't panic if it takes me a bit to respond to emails.
I'll reply to all inquiries in order (if needed), just to be fair.
