Cool info folks! In his autobiography, Pete talks about the TDF mix of "You spin me.." and how he used the Fairlight for the sample of the two dogs f**ing. OK, so he talks a lot of crap, but it's a fun read all the same! He also makes it clear that Aitken and Waterman did the vast majority of the music. I definitely hear elbass all over their stuff, and the brass sound is very CMI-esque. I also know that not only did they always have the best gear, but the best people too- programmers and engineers especially. Actually, there must be tape streamers out there with vocal spin-ins from the Hit Factory and other big eighties studios... it would be cool to hear those. I do remember seeing Tim Friese Greene's series 2 on auction at Vemia, with the disks from Talk Talk's Colour of Spring. Did anyone here buy those? And I know where the IIx from Sarm is, although it currently has dead disk drives. There's an instrument that could tell tales!!
