Hi Guys. I have a V-Mod 100 solid state video deck manufactured by German company F.E.D. It has Sony 9-pin control and should be able to slave to MFX for film work. I know it can work, since Fairlight themselves used this device for demos. My problem is I can't set up the internal menus for the machine to be a 9-pin slave to the MFX. I've tried both an MFX2 and an MFX3+. If anyone has an idea, or better still, a manual, I would be forever in their debt. I have a film to work on, a director screeming in my ear, and don't want to hire in a Betacam deck (even if I had the money). Thanks. Now a bit of shameless marketing: I don't know if you're interested, but I have a couple of mint condition Fairlight CMI IIIs. I have two available. They are both revision 9.34 (the latest CMI software), have 16 voices, 14 Mbyte RAM, Fairlight music keyboards, colour graphics cards and 15" LCD monitors (I no longer support the older monochrome Fairlight monitors as they are too unreliable), and either the old style alpha-numeric keyboard, or the later MFX keyboard. They have 4 Gbyte hard drives FULL of amazing libraries, such as the following: Complete Fairlight library, Prosonus Strings, Brass, Percussion, Sound Genesis strings, plus many libraries I have collected over the last 20 years dealing with top pruducers and musicians. These include libraries from: Pet Shop Boys, Trevor Horn, Hans Zimmer, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Art of Noise and many, many others. The complete IIX library is also included. The machines will be serviced, have a full set of manuals, all leads, latest firmware, and come with 3 months warranty.. The price is GBP 5,750, plus freight. I also have many optional extras such as digital samplers, 24 output routers, extra hard discs etc. Pleas don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, or you would like to buy one of these absolutely classic music systems....
