Fairlight-CMI

After a very long time I finally installed the Fairlight CMI IIx in my
new studio. Much to my delight all is still working perfect.

However I noticed the drives are very loud. Perhaps replacing them
with new ones would help? Has anyone here done this?

What are good drives and where can I get them?

Any further advice concerning the drives?

Is it wise to change to modern 3,5" drives? I know there was a firm
that could do this. Has anyone done this?
And how do you convert the 8"disks to these 3,5 ones?
