I sent a post to the list last night, but I didn’t see it come through. Sorry if anyone else got it and I’m repeating anything here.

I spoke to the guy last night and got some info. The unit he’s selling is the Series I or II (whatever it is.) He has no idea whether either one works or not, but he’s convinced that they’re “very valuable.” He thinks that they’re even more valuable because of the Kubrick connection.

He claimed that he’s been receiving offers on the Series II for “over $5000.”

I’m going after the Series III that he has for sale, but not knowing if it’s even partially functional, I have no idea what it might be worth. With the individual outputs and mono mixed out, it’s certainly an early machine.

Anybody have any thoughts on what might be a fair price, should it be a complete, but unknown condition, system?

Thanks,

Tim

This is the reply I received when I asked if it was working...not too
encouraging in my book!

"i am the second owner
the first was stanley kubricks daughter vivienne
who used it on the film "full metal jacket"
i have never even tried to power it up
and i know that she didnt use it much outside of that film
so i am positive that it is in greta working condition"
