There are TWO versions of the IIx factory library: Blue & Pink ( so named because of the color of the labels ). They're mostly the same, but there are some differences too. When I made the sample CD of the library it was mostly from the pink one. Sorry can't help you more. ----- Original Message ----- From: "dvdborn" [dvdborn@pandora.be] Sent: 03/15/2010 09:51 PM GMT To: Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Fairlight-CMI] Re: CMI IIX "Old Strings" factory sound? I've also been looking for that sound in the IIx library. I've got the following 3 string floppies, none of them which contain that sound: #14 LOSTRING #15 HISTRING #16 STRINGS3 Is this one of those sounds that got copied between artists/producers and isn't part of the original Fairlight library? Or did Fairlight decided not to include this sound in the IIx library even if it was part of the Series I/II library? The version I have there is from JJ's "Art of Sampling" disc, and it does not seem to be the original, because it has a bell sound in the attack. >
