Corrupt .vc Files? / Sample Rate / New Fairlight III

2003-12-10 by Peter Connelly (Core Design Ltd.)

Hi all,

It's been a little quiet on here lately, so thought I'd throw in a few questions that will "keep the kettle boiling", so to speak.

Firstly, if when I LOAD a sound and an error message appears saying "END OF FILE", does this mean these files are corrupt? I tried QUERYing them and they have no information for them and seem to be only 1k in size.

Secondly, As the Fairlight III has a sample rate of 96khz (or is it 100?) I assume I would need a mic with a frequency response to match this. What sort of mic would be ideal?

Lastly, I've seen a Fairlight III advertised somewhere (can't remember where) and the advertiser stated that this particular one was manufactured directly from Fairlight (Sydney) in 2000/2001. Do/did they still manufacture these to order? If so, were/are the parts identical?

Ok, this should be enough for now.

Hope you are all well and ok.

Kind regards,
Peter
